MONEY FOR SOMETHING - JARRE ONLINE AUCTION
by revo on 12/06/2001.

Creative Labs have announced a special online auction, Money for Something, of unique and very limited DAP (Digitial Audio Player) Jukeboxes with proceeds donated to charity. Of the three artists already announced to date, Jean Michel Jarre is one who is assisting with the auction, with proceeds going to UNESCO (who he has been a Goodwill Ambassador since May 1993). Other artists announced are Mark Knopfler and Genesis.

The item for auction is a limited number of specially designed DAP Jukeboxes decorated with the Equinoxe album cover design, pre-loaded with all available Jean Michel Jarre albums on the player's hard disk and is even autographed by Jean Michel Jarre.

At the moment there are initial details for the auctions to take place in the UK (to commence in July) and Belgium (to commence in September). More countries are expected to be added in the coming weeks, as well as further information on how the auction will be conducted.

More information on the item, auction and background info on Jarre can be found on the Creative Labs Auction Page. The page also includes an interactive flash demo of the player, so you can try it out online.

Be sure to check the gallery page with three previously unreleased b/w press photos of Jean Michel Jarre featured (and make sure you download them as well) ;-)
